Downtown |
|
By far the citys
most eclectic district, the Downtown area has become one of the most
dynamic and trendiest places in Manhattan. Just a few things to
enjoy are the renowned shopping district of Soho, the restaurants of
Little Italy, and the nightlife in the East Village. Greenwich
Village has long been a source of inspiration for young artists,
actors and writers, and that tradition continues today with many
off-off-Broadway playhouses, quaint bookstores, and independent
coffee houses. The area is a less traditional experience than
uptown, featuring charming cobble-stone streets and winding
alleyways of the West Village that dont conform to the Manhattan
Grid. And while each neighborhood within the downtown area has its
own particular feel, the community-oriented experience of being
Downtown is like none other. |

50
Gramercy Park North
Residents
at 50 Gramercy Park North will enjoy all the amenities of living in
one of the most luxurious buildings in quite possibly the citys
most magnetic neighborhoods. Room service, massage and spa
services, catering and event planning, and babysitting services are
just a few attractions that have made this building so sought
after. According to designer Ian Schrager, we wanted the hotel to
act as a private clubhouse for the owners of the 23 residences at 50
Gramercy Park North, and for Gramercy Park to be their backyard.
Through the hotel, residents will have access to a rooftop garden,
access to a DVD library, and priority access to the penthouse suite
and all other rentable public space for private functions.

40 Mercer
The design of 40 Mercer Street marks the most avant-garde use of
glass in a residential building in New York City to date. The
brainchild of Jean Nouvel and Andre Balazs, 40 Mercers exterior is
composed of huge retractable panes of glass some of the biggest
ever used on a residential project. On the higher floors, residents
will enjoy windows that can slide open up to 20 feet wide, using a
key-operated motor. Just some of the building amenities include an
indoor 50-foot lap pool, a fully equipped fitness center, a steam
room, a sauna and a private bar and lounge. In addition to the
abundance of space and light that make 40 Mercer so compelling, the
garden lobby lounge provides an astounding and unforgettable
entrance.
