Lower East Side

The LOWER EAST SIDE is home to a myriad of different ethnic groups, designers, writers, professionals, musicians and artists. Old-world shops are next door to funky, new boutiques and galleries that represent the best of New York’s avant-garde fashion scene. The Lower East Side is bordered by Houston Street, the East River and the FDR Drive. Over the past two decades, the Lower East Side has evolved into a safer, cleaner and more fascinating community.

Among the new luxury residences is Blue, a bold new condo from architect Bernard Tschumi, which offers a roof terrace, cold storage locker for grocery deliveries, and 24-hour doorman service. At 17 Orchard, floor-through condos with oversized windows have washer/dryers and custom cabinetry.  The Lower East Side has maintained its historic character amidst the new, luxury condos. One of the most famous historical sites is Katz’s Deli, a landmark since 1888. The Lower East Side is perfect for going out to varied venues such as Arlene’s Grocery, the Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge and the Cake Shop, where you can have a slice of cake while enjoying music of your favorite bands.
